Murder Charged
BORGER, April 20 - A Guymon, Okla., man, Leroy Matzek, 38, has been charged with murder without malice while driving intoxicated, according to the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Department.
Matzek was driving the car which struck Joe Thomas Lorance, 42, a farm laborer, about 12:30 a.m. today as Lorance walked along Highway 278 about one mile north of the Borger city limits.
Matzek was being held in custody at Borger late today, in lieu of $2,000 bond.
Lorance, whose home is in Duncan, Okla., recently worked as a laborer on farms near Spearman.
Funeral arrangements will be announced from Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan.
