A Potter County judge sentenced a man Wednesday to 15 years in prison for biting off part of a woman’s ear during a fight, the 47th District Attorney’s office said.

Terry Michael Sizemore, age unavailable, was fighting with his girlfriend when the other woman intervened, District Attorney Randall Sims said in a statement. Sizemore faced one charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

The jury deliberated in the 320th District Court for less than two hours before it returned a guilty verdict.

Sizemore opted to have a judge assess his punishment, instead of the jury.
