Amarillo man indicted for murder of 50-year-old woman

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A 41-year-old Amarillo man has been indicted for a murder that took place in Southeast Amarillo in April.

According to court documents, Christopher Bernardino Preciado has been indicted on Wednesday, Sept. 13, for the murder of 50-year-old Dalia Jo Soria.

Soria's was found inside the home at 1212 S.E. 7th Ave. on the night of April 3. When officers found her, she had an"obvious injury to a portion of her upper body." She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Court documents say that Preciado shot Soria.

Preciado's indictment comes with two enhancements; one for a felony offense of Failure to Stop and Render Aid and another for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Preciado was arrested in October 2016 after allegedly stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police, causing a pursuit. He was also hospitalized with life-threatening injuries in 2011 after being shot in the chestduring an argument in North Amarillo.
