AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo Police Department and the Special Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting on the 900 block of North Hayden Street. Officers received the call around 2:15 a.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, they found a man deceased inside the home, who appeared to had been shot in the upper portion of his body. A body bag was carried out of the house around 6:45 a.m.
The victim was identified as 21-year-old Gregory Lynn Battee Jr. An autopsy will be performed in Lubbock on March 31.

Two men surrendered to Amarillo Police today after they were named as suspects in the shooting death of a 21 year old earlier this week.

Two men surrendered to Amarillo Police today after they were named as suspects in the shooting death of a 21 year old earlier this week.
Amarillo police said Samuel Eugene Wilson, 27 and Charles Lynn Pruitt, 31 surrendered themselves at the police department Saturday morning.
Friday they were listed as suspects in the murder of Gregory Lynn Batte Jr., 21. Battee Jr. was found dead inside a home on the 900 block of N. Hayden around 2:15 a.m. Thursday morning.
He died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The Amarillo Police Department says both men are considered suspects and facing murder charges. They were both booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
