Man pleads guilty to drunken 2018 crash that left 2 dead, 4 hurt in Amarillo

(Potter County Sheriff's Office)
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Adam Banbury, 24, is headed to prison for his role in a 2018 crash that saw him crash into a family from Arizona's van — leaving two of them dead.
Court records show Banbury pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular manslaughter and four counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle this week.
He was officially sentenced to 12 years for each count of vehicular manslaughter and 10 years for each count of intoxication assault.
It is not yet clear if he will serve those terms consecutively or concurrently.
Authorities said the then 19-year-old Banbury had bought alcohol from a local convenience store before he crashed his truck into a van near the 10800 block of I-40 on Feb. 7, 2018.
The crash report said Banbury's truck hit the rear of the van, causing it to veer off the road and roll onto its side.
A family of 12 were reportedly inside that van.
A 50-year-old man and 11-year-old girl died from their injuries in the crash.
Four others in the van were hurt, including three who had serious injuries.
