AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — UPDATE: 5:00 p.m.

The subject that police were searching for was found hiding in a garage in the same block of the street.

The suspect's identity and charges have not been released at this time.

UPDATE: 4:10 p.m.

Amarillo police said the person being sought was not in the house and are continuing their search.

The Amarillo Police Department's SWAT team is responding to a barricaded subject near Amarillo Boulevard and N. Mississippi Street on Thursday afternoon.

According to officials, officers were trying to serve a warrant and the suspect barricaded himself in the home.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is also assisting including the helicopter flying over the scene.

North Mississippi St. is closed from NW 9th to 11th Avenue.
